Principal’s Report
In this newsletter, I will provide everyone with some updates on how COVID-19 continues to affect the everyday running of our school. Excursions and sport continue to be on hold at the moment and this is a decision based on the health advice provided to the Education Department. Grade 10 Leaver’s Dinners are also on hold due to current restrictions on restaurants, however, we will let families know of any changes, if they occur in the future. I understand that the Graduation Dinner is a very important and often costly event for families so please take these current restrictions into account when discussing buying outfits etc with your child.
We continue to hold our extremely high expectations across the school with students being expected to follow our four core values of Maturity, Respect, Learning and Acceptance in all facets of school life. This allows me to guarantee every parent that their child can come to Exeter High School and work in classrooms that are most conducive to learning.
Teachers have begun completing Mid-Year reports and these will provide parents with an indication to how their child is progressing in the Core areas of English, Mathematics, Science and HASS. There will also be a comment in relation to your child’s wellbeing over the course of the past term and how they have settled back into our normal school routines.
As always is the case in term 2, the colder days are with us. If any families are experiencing financial hardship in relation to buying winter uniform, please contact your child’s grade leader and we can discuss how to support you during these difficult times.

Welcome Back BBQ
Welcome back to Exeter High, time has just flown by and here we are starting week 7 of the term returning to school. We all recognise that changes to routine can be a little difficult at times (getting up earlier, catching the bus, catching up with friends in person, etc etc). To aid the transition back into school-based learning the support staff with the wonderful help of the Student Wellbeing Team, SLC and support staff are running different activities every Wednesday from now until the end of term. This week was led by Paul, our fantastic Chaplain, who put breakfast club on steroids, shifted it to recess to give the team time to prepare, cook and serve 240 bacon and egg muffins. Enjoy the photo of Paul cooking up a storm.
Cheers Nurse Dave
Bio Security Visit
On Friday 5th June, Exeter High had the pleasure of showing representatives from Bio Security around our farm.
This was a great Professional Learning opportunity for our staff to learn more about Bio Security and how their advice further affirms the work we do. It also provided an opportunity to ask questions relating to future planning at our farm.
We received very positive feedback on how our animals are kept, their feed routine and the overall look of our school farm. Our school is looking to further develop our partnership with the Bio Security team by having them visit our Ag classes to work with students.
