Principal’s Report
As we approach the midway point of Term 1, I would like to take the time to remind parents and students of the importance of wearing full school uniform and ensuring that everyone attends school every day. So far, I have been very impressed with the pride our students have taken in their uniform and as I have said before, our school is judged on aspects such as uniform and this is one of the reasons our school is held in such high regard in the wider community. So far, our attendance is around 95% and it should be everyone’s aim to ensure it stays at this level.
We have been very fortunate to have a new Social Worker (Lauren Brown) and School Psychologist (David McCormack), join us here this year. I have been very impressed with the way students and staff have quickly formed relationships with Lauren and David. Should you wish your child to have an appointment with either of these support staff, please contact your child’s Grade Leader and they will arrange this. Grade 7 is Miss Cartledge, Grade 8 Mrs Fox, Grade 9 Mrs Champion and Grade 10 is Mrs Stone.
The 2020 School Leadership Council recently spent three days on camp where they participated in a range of activities to help them better understand the dynamics of leadership. They also selected the different roles that each member will undertake for the year. The Co-Presidents for 2020 are Nikita Hockey and Jenna Griffiths, our Treasurer is Elise Young, Secretary will be Breea Jenner, Fundraising Officer is Georgia Soros, Student Support & Liaison Officers are Ella Greenhalf and Rachel Dickson and Sports Captains will be Liam Older and Jasmine Russell. Thank you to Mr Stewart and Miss Cartledge who attended the camp to provide these students with such a valuable experience.
Interim reports will be sent home on Thursday March 26th with students and these are a valuable insight into how your child has settled into the school year. Parents/Teacher interviews will be held on Monday April 6th and Tuesday April 7th where parents can book an appointment to discuss reports with their child’s teachers.

EHS Swimming Trials Event
The annual Exeter High School Swimming Trials will be on Wednesday 11th March at the Launceston Aquatic Centre.
Students will need to be prepared with bathers, towel, plastic bag etc. and wear their Exeter High sports uniform on this day. If students do not have a sports polo, plain blue shorts or track pants they will be required to wear their normal school uniform. Students must not wear free dress, skins or other non-uniform items.
Students will meet at the school gymnasium at 8.45am for an attendance check, ready to depart EHS at 9.00am. We will travel by bus to the Launceston Aquatic Centre and return to school by 2.50pm. Any students who intend to make their own way to LAC should inform Mrs Robinson before Wednesday 11th. All students will be transported by bus back to school unless they are collected in person by a parent or guardian before the group departs at 2.15pm.
All points from the individual events will contribute towards championship points and all events, including relays, will go towards house points. Students will be able to access the café at the venue between races, however it is strongly recommended that participants bring their own food, snacks and drinks on the day and do not just rely on the café facility.
