Principal’s Report

Welcome back to 2020! Staff spent the first two days of the school year preparing for the return of our students and I have been so impressed with the way the year here has started. Classes are settled as is the expectation here and students are straight into covering the curriculum of each subject area. We have also welcomed a number of new staff this year. Mr Luke Chapman has joined us as an English/HASS teacher, Mr Robert Cooper is teaching Mathematics as is Mrs Jane Hall-Dadson who has re-joined us and Miss Eve Hall is spending the year with us as a practicum student. Lauren Brown is our new social worker and David McCormack is our school psychologist.

As I discussed with the current Grade 7 parents at the end of 2019, if you have any concerns or questions in relation to your child, please do not hesitate to contact the school to discuss with the relevant staff member. Often, a quick phone call can resolve any concerns.

Parents will have seen that we have had a change to our mobile phone policy and this has been overwhelmingly received positively by both staff and students. Students have told me about how they are far less distracted without the temptation of using their phones in class and teachers have commented that they are no longer spending valuable teaching time asking students to put their phones away.
