Principal’s Report
Once again, it’s hard to believe that we are at the end of another school term. The Student Leadership Council hosted our end of term assembly last Friday and this was a wonderful opportunity for many of our students receive recognition for their outstanding achievements. We had students recognised for their academic successes in Mathematics and Science Competitions as well as our sporting awards that were recognising success in sports carnivals and winter sport teams.
Ms Sarah Courtney MHA for Bass visited the school last Friday because she had heard so many positive comments about our place. Sarah was very complimentary about how calm and settled our classrooms were and how friendly our students were. Once again, it was such pleasure to show visitors around Exeter High School because of the amazing place it is to work for staff and students alike.
We also had a guest speaker, Amanda Barker from the Australian School-based Apprenticeships and she provided our Grade 9 and 10 students with information about these opportunities. Basically, these provide students with the chance to spend up to 2 days per week in a workplace getting paid and valuable experience. Please talk to your child about these and contact Mr Stevenson if you have any further questions.
Last week, we also farewelled Mrs Catherine Yole who has been teaching on the Grade 7 team. Mrs Yole is leaving to have her second child and we wish her and her family all the best. Thank you Catherine for your professional approach towards teaching and you have a bright future ahead of you in the coming years.
Have a great holiday and I look forward to seeing everyone back for a busy but productive Term 4.

Notley Fern Gorge
On Wednesday 11th September all senior HPE option classes travelled by bus to Notley Fern Gorge and enjoyed a pleasant afternoon walk through the amazing ferns and gorge track. Mr Lendvay set a cracking pace at the front of the group as students weaved their way along the track. The weather was perfect and it was an awesome way to spend the afternoon with a great bunch of students.

Northern Schools Show Jumping Competition
On Sunday 22nd September Exeter High School was represented at the Show Jumping competition held at Westbury by Grade 10 students Katelin and Chloe and Grade 9 student Jenna. The girls had a fantastic day and these are their results.
Katelin riding Fernayre Justfying Ryality jumped 60cm and 70cm coming 1st and 3rd respectively in her class.
Jenna on Sound the Bells jumped 80cm and 90cm coming 9th and 7th respectively in her class and Chloe on Henry jumped 90cm and 100cm coming 3rd and 2nd respectively in her class.
When the results were tallied our girls placed 3rd overall for the day. What a fantastic effort by our three riders.
Grade 8 Noticeboard Revamp
The Grade 8 Team were inspired by an image on Pinterest/Facebook and thought we would replicate this on one of our noticeboards in our break out area. It has been well received by the students and hopefully will be thought-provoking for them.
Photography Students
Photography students had the chance to enter the Launceston Church Grammar School SNAP competition last month. The Snap competition is a photographic scavenger where students collect photographs rather than objects. Students had a list of 20 random words they had to creatively interrupt and capture. The following students entered the competition with seven of them becoming finalist. Grade 10 students were Xavier, Indiana, Patrick, Lauren and Tyler with Grade 9 students Bayden, Ella and Rachel.

Qkr! App at EHS
The Qkr! App allows student Canteen orders to be placed and paid for via one easy to use App. The App is available for both students and parents to use. There is an instruction sheet included in this newsletter. We are endeavouring to get our uniform on Qkr! as well and further information will follow around this shortly.
