PRINCIPAL’S REPORT
END OF YEAR CELEBRATIONS
We are quickly approaching the end of another very successful year here at Exeter High School. I look forward to our upcoming Year 10 Graduation Assembly and dinner, where we celebrate the achievements of our current Year 10 cohort. A massive thank you to the Year 10 team and other staff members who have been working tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure these events are the success they always are. Our end-of-year assembly yesterday was also a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the successes of our students across areas such as academic and sporting pursuits. We certainly have a lot to celebrate here. I am sure that our upcoming celebration assemblies will be of a very high standard with many students acknowledged. I also look forward to attending the Exeter Primary School and Beaconsfield Primary School end of year assemblies.
REDEVELOPMENT UPDATE
Our redevelopment is on track to open our Year 7/8 block at the start of next year. This will be very exciting for those students as they access the new learning spaces. Work will begin on the Year 9/10 block next year so Year 9/10 students will use other areas of the school for their learning. We thank students and families for the positive way that they are coping with the ongoing disruption while the redevelopment is completed.
REPORTS
End of year reports are currently being completed and collated. Please read the information in this newsletter re dates that they will be sent home with students.
DANCE FEVER
Last week I attended Launceston College’s Dance Fever at the Door of Hope. This year we had two Exeter High School students, Keira and Neve, participating. Congratulations to them on their contribution to a very professional and high energy performance. The theme was “Elevate”, and it was an inspiration to watch students from lots of schools participate with a common purpose of working together to lift to a higher level. So great that we can be part of events bringing schools together.
INTERACT CLUB
On Wednesday I attended the local Rotary Club meeting. Our Interact students also participated and were able to share the wonderful achievements that they have made this year, including the recent Peace Pole Ceremony at Exeter Primary School. Thank you to Rotary for the support given to our school.
SCHOOL PANTRY
A reminder that we have our school pantry here, with food and other non-perishable items that are available for families to access. Christmas is a busy and expensive time of the year, and I invite families to access these items.

YEAR 9 CAMP CLAYTON REPORT
On Tuesday 26th November, 50 Year 9 students and four teachers went to Camp Clayton. Upon arrival, students had lunch before embarking on some afternoon activities: the high ropes and rock-climbing wall. Glorious sunny weather made this a lovely afternoon, and it was great to see students step outside their comfort zones. After an early dinner and impending rain, plans changed, and we did a beach walk before heading back to camp.
Some interesting stories were shared before we finally got into bed. We woke up to pouring rain on Wednesday morning, so after breakfast we went to the main hall and watched a movie before heading back to school.
It was a fantastic chance for staff and students to bond in an out-of-school environment. A good time was had by all.
UNIFORM DONATIONS
We are always on the lookout for uniform donations. If you have any items that are no longer of use to your child/ren, and are in good condition, please drop them into our school office any time between 8.00am and 4.00pm.
