PRINCIPAL’S REPORT
As I have previously announced, I have won the position as Principal of Queechy High School and will start there next Monday 18th March.
As I shared with our amazing staff here at Exeter High School, my family played a major factor in me applying for the position as I will be in town closer to them and be more active in their lives. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Exeter High School and am so proud of what we have been able to achieve in the last nine years. The last nine years have been an immensely proud period of my career, and I am so lucky that I have been able to share it with such an amazing group of people. We are leading the way on many educational fronts and that is due to the dedication and commitment that our staff have shown in making this school the place it is today.
I sincerely say that I am leaving Exeter High School in a tremendous position, and it has been a privilege to be part of this community for nine years. I also look forward to following the redevelopment that is about to commence, which will provide our students with the 21st Century learning environments they so richly deserve.
With my departure, there will be several staff changes that will occur for the remainder of the term which I will announce by the end of this week. A new Principal will be announced in the coming weeks to lead the school in Term 2.

2024 SLC
This year, the 2024 SLC team has decided to focus on building school culture. They are excited to bring some new and exciting things to the school and started with providing each student with a badge to recognise which house they belonged to. They plan to continue to build house recognition and competition in the school to create a strong culture and sense of belonging for every Exeter High School student.
We wish our 2024 leadership team the best of luck.

SAFEGUARDING TRAINING IN OUR SCHOOLS
We all have a role to play in keeping children and young people safe.
This year, there is important training that anyone who works with children or young people must complete. This includes all our volunteers and service providers.
The training is compulsory under new laws designed to better safeguard children and young people in Tasmania.
It will help you understand what to do if you believe a child or young person is or may be being harmed, and to make sure you are doing all you can to prevent this from happening. The training will also tell you what you must report under the new laws.
This simple, online training must be done as soon as possible, and you will need to complete it before you work with any children and young people this year.
Once completed, you will receive a certificate, which you can save.
To complete your training, simply visit Safeguarding Training.
Thank you for leading the way in caring for our children and young people safe so that they can focus on living bright lives with positive futures.
